Now absorbed by T-Mobile, SunCom was a small regional carrier offering service in the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Previously a close partner with AT&T Wireless, SunCom then operated independently. SunCom's network used GSM technology in the 1900 MHz (PCS) band.
