Verizon Wireless

Verizon's national 4G network employs LTE technology in bands 4, 13, and 2, which are also known as the AWS (1700 MHz), Upper 700 (750 MHz), and PCS (1900 MHz) bands. Verizon's legacy 2G/3G network employs CDMA technology in both the Cellular (850 MHz) and PCS (1900 MHz) bands, including EVDO Revison A 3G data technology. While 4G LTE was originally used only for data, Verizon has deployed VoLTE for voice as well, and plans to deploy LTE-only phones in 2016, with an eye toward eventually phasing out CDMA. Verizon purchased and absorbed Alltel in 2009.
